Start on right-facing edges at 7 feet. Climb the face left of the tree and pop out left to the arete. A variation, Bates Eliminate, avoids the arete to climb straight up parallel to the tree and is a grade harder.
Proud to understand the tiny foot and tension enough to finally establish. A little sad I don’t understand the rowing motion well enough to do it in one move, but the intermediate method is very stable, and after this I could repeat the stand reliably. Short problems can be so instructive!
Establishing from the ground adds difficulty. Overall problem felt at least V6.
