This classic arete is one of the most sought-after testpieces of the grade at Smith. The oirginal route started directly up the arete, and finished on the left side - not the right - at the top. Today's easier version traverses in from the left at the start, and uses better hold around the corner to the right at the top. Before a current anchor appeared years after the first ascent, a freaky 5.10 finish past two more bolts ended at a higher anchor.
