The Great Roof (A1) 5.7

First done in 1969, this clean aid line up a massive, roof-capped dihedral, was the first route up the north wall of Brogan Spire. Repeated nailings made The Optimist possible, while the bolt ladder finish (skirting around the roof) is anticlimactic (5.7 A1). Easy scrambling (5.4) leads to an anchor just below the summit ridge. Rap to the ground with two ropes.
