The first ascent of this remarkable line brought Smith to the attention of the climbing world. Forty years later, it still commands respect. It's been said that you don't need to be 5.14 strong to climb it, but you need to be 5.14 good. So true, but you find it easier if you're both. Expect unrelenting, techy crimps before the first rest at the 10th bolt. You can (and likely will) fall off almost anywhere. The easier finish is still difficult enough to spoil your dreams, as it's done for many climbers over the years.
