Without rival, the most popular multi-pitch sport route at Smith ascends five pitches to the top of the Northwest Wall. The moderate grade, plentiful bolts, and good rock justify the attention. It makes a wonderful morning choice on any hot day, though consider yourself lucky if you aren't waiting in line.
Pitch 1: (5.8) Climb the Adventurous 9904.
Pitch 2: (5.8) A water streak leads to an anchor atop a slab.
Pitch 3: (5.9) Trend left on big knobs, clipping bolts the whole way.
Pitch 4: (5.9) Insecure moves give way to exposed nubbins, with the level easing the higher you go.
Pitch 5: (5.8) Race up a simple slab to vertical finish. It's faster to walk off, after a short 4th class traverse to unexposed terrain. But most climbers opt for a four rappel descent, begining with a short rap down the backside of the summit block.
