From Interstate 70, take the Idaho Springs exit #240. Head south on CO Highway 103 (a Scenic Byway) for 6.9 miles. Turn right on West Chicago Creek Road (a dirt road). Drive 2.9 miles to a parking area for Hells Hole Trailhead. The boulder sits on the north side of the dirt road directly across from the parking area’s Do Not Enter sign, and is easily visible.
