A less intimidating variant adds an alternate start, and completely bypasses the final roof. The starting dihedral (5.5) ending at the first set of anchors, is a worthwhile trad route in its own right. Start around the corner, slightly uphill from the lowest reaches of the buttress. Pitch 1: (5.7) Jam a low-angle dihedral past an anchor, joining the crux lieback on the regular route. Pitch 2: (5.5) Escape left up a ramp, and finish with a mediocre crack system.
