Holy shit. I was so destroyed I gave up on the idea of climbing tonight. The Mineral Lake Basin is a loving goddess and she provided shade starting shortly after 5pm, forcing my hand. My battery started to charge and I decided to at least brush this legendary project. As other rock addicts may know, brushing lead to psych and psych lead to boots on. First time bringing the ladder here and it made all the difference. There WERE holds where they needed to be. This face is ~17 feet tall at a gentle overhang and the top is not a jug. Quite intimidating on my own in the back country. I thought it was going to be a genuine mantle but amazingly its generous enough for a simple out of the pool. Again thank god for Dean brining that extra pad. Cool moves on cool holds on a absolutely gorgeous face with one of the best panoramic high sierra views ever. 10/10. I originally thought this was going to be V10 when I tried it years ago so i was a bit sad that if felt so easy - I did it first burn of the day. When topping out I short circuited - normally I scream in triumph but I was utterly quiet. Time to make the Nahal Bond. Mineral Lakes is all time, and this boulder is the centerpiece.
