Start left-hand on the arete, and right hand on a sloper. Follow the arete and some small face holds to the top. This proud line was first done by visiting climber Brian Capps, and has since become a Hatcher classic. Extensive landing work has been done to make it better.
I can’t start it the original way with the left meat hook on the arete, so instead I start with the same right hand but a lower left hand that is used from the sit. It felt 10 to me from there.
First problem I saw at Hatcher Pass and one of the ones that brought me back. Climbed by Brian two years ago and I never did it on that trip. The start seems to be the crux, but the upper moves are great.
