Wonder v10

On a tour of the song themed boulders in Index! Wonder is obviously named after Kanye West’s “I Wonder”, which opens with a sample from Labi Siffre’s “My Song”. “I Wonder” opens with Siffre’s beautiful songbird-like voice, singing: “And I wonder if you know what it means to find your dreams come true”. This lyric echoes in you more with every attempt. With each try you feel simultaneously like your fingertips are millimeters away while the rest of your body pendulums towards the crash-pads. You begin to daydream how it will feel to have your whole body jump fluidly, stick the lip, and sit there perfectly perched, your right arm hanging on to a poor sloper while your left precariously balances on a river polished patch of rock. And as you have the perfect go, both relying on intuition and muscle memory, Siffre’s voice will make its way back into your head and propel you through the outro easy slab with a sense of euphoria.
