Hueco Tanks is the mecca of American bouldering. This state park is home to incredible indigenous history, archeology, nature, and some of the most iconic boulders in the world. The uniqueness of the movement and rock features have solidified Hueco as a boulderer's paradise. Please respect park rules, archeological sites, and nature as access is very fragile and climbing is a privilege.

Do not walk or stand in huecos, stay on trails, and don't slide pads around in the dirt in order to prevent erosion.

PARK HOURS October to April: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. May to September: Friday to Sunday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ENTRANCE FEES Adult : $7 Daily Child 12 Years and Under: Free For more information, visit the Texas State Parks website: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/hueco-tanks Purchase the North Mountain paper guidebook at the Hueco Tanks office or online here: https://sagetosummit.com/products/hueco-tanks-vol-1-north-mountain Hueco Tanks is located about 45 minutes East of El Paso International Airport. RESERVATION INFORMATION North Mountain access requires reservations and is self-guided. 70 total visitors are allowed into the park at any given time, and 60 of those spaces are able to be reserved in advance. The remaining 10 are left open for walk-ins, so if you DO NOT have a reservation but still want to climb on North Mountain, it's best to arrive at the gate at least an hour early in the busy season, but you may need to arrive even earlier and wait for the gate to open at 8am. In order to make a reservation in advance, you must call this number: (512) 389-8911 - No online reservations are possible. East, East Spur, and West Mountains are NOT accessible without a guide. Guided tours can be arranged by calling (915) 857-1135 and can be arranged a minimum of a week in advance.
