Rocktown is one the the premier climbing areas in the Southeast and arguably Georgia's best climbing area.Home to hundreds of boulder problems from V-Fun to V-Hard. 
Rocktown holds a delightful approach, with many corridors that makes getting away from the crowds very easy. Camping is available on top of the mountain in designated areas only. There is no water, or electricity, so please plan accordingly. Pack out what you pack in. Please do NOT park in the Rocktown parking lot.

While the KAYA guide lists roughly 500 individual boulder problems, there are hundreds of more linkups that are not currently listed. While this area has been climbed by thousands of climbers, there are still projects for those yearning for FA's, particularly those who enjoy tall boulders with scary falls. Dogs are allowed, please clean up after your pets, and please bring a leash. Cell service is very limited on the mountain, and access to EMS is 1+ hours away, so please climb within your limit. There are many unique sandstone holds and features that are fragile, climb at your own risk. There is no access to restrooms, so please bury things deep and only use biodegradable toiletry items. Do not use plastic or metal brushes on the sandstone. Finally, this is a Georgia Wildlife Management Area, it is shared with hikers and hunters, please check the access info before your visit to make sure Rocktown is open for rock climbing. Purchase the paper book here: https://www.brayackmedia.com/books/rocktown-bouldering-guidebook Rocktown, also known as Crockford-Pigeon Mountain, is a Georgia Wildlife Management Area that requires a pass or license to access the area. There is no front gate or information center to purchase a license on the property, so it is best to purchase a license online before you arrive, as there is limited cell service at Rocktown ( https://gooutdoorsgeorgia.com/ ). The Public Lands Pass is the best for rock climbers at $30 per year or $60 per year and is good for all Georgia WMA properties. For Sportsmen, the Hunting license is also valid. Rocktown does have weekend closures throughout the year for hunting, please check the official Georgia page for closures: https://georgiawildlife.com/crockford-pigeon-mountain-wma The Rangers DO patrol the area and will give you a ticket if you are on the property without a license.
