Getting There: Climbers visiting Wadi Rum should use the Queen alia international airport in amman. Transportation to the desert can be done by renting a car (4x4 recommended), and driving on the desert highway which will be about a three and a half hour drive to wadi rum. There are Busses running from Amman to wadi rum as well.
Arriving in Wadi rum: Upon arrival if in a private vehicle an entrance fee for the vehicle and for visitors must be paid at the wadi rum visitors centre. If you are not driving your own vehicle and hiring a local to drive you around you will be able to organise transportation and meeting points with your guide.
Jordan pass: A good recommendation is buying the Jordan pass before traveling to Jordan as it covers the cost of the entrance fee to wadi rum as well as multiple touristic sites such as Petra.
Accommodation: There is a large selection of camps to choose from in wadi rum with ranging prices and comfort. Camping on your own is also possible!
Ethics and tips: Please respect the locals and keep the desert clean. Always remember that some climbing areas are remote with no cell signal.
