I’ll take the 9, but it’s v10 with a 5’10” span, and a hard one at that

Ohhhhhh yeeeahhhh!!! Put 4 sessions in back in December and got to the point where I could consistently get to the lip from the bottom, but not far enough over it to grab it. All I needed was like an extra inch on the jump. Each session was starting to feel the same and after lots of analyzing I felt like I couldn’t do anything more to change my odds, so I moved on. After doing all the boulders I’ve done since then (especially Limelighters, with its jump at the end) I had renewed syke and confidence for it. So after doing High Value Target it made sense to revisit it and see if anything had changed. I got there, warmed up off the boulder, gave one warm up go to the jump, tried the jump in isolation twice, then sent it next go catching the lip and sliding into a 3 finger drag!! Crazy! Cool to see the before and after of 3 months time spent climbing other things. I guess if you can’t do it at the beginning of the season, you just might do it at the end! Pretty cool. Grade wise, you could tell me this is v10 and I probably wouldn’t argue with you, but in the interest of keeping things real and limiting the grade inflation, I’ll say hard v9. Time will tell with consensus!
