Sit start on a low right crimp and a left hand below, both on the arete. Make a few moves into the standard pinch arete start and finish following the arete and face holds to top out at the apex.
Starting matched on that low rail felt nails hard! I went right hand first to the right side pull crimp and then bumped my left to a nasty edge, and only then was able to get to the actual arete. Maybe I’m missing something but this way felt solid v9
No idea what intended start is. Just used smallest crimps I could find as low down on the left Arete as possible. Also I may have exited early but also unsure if that’s being enforced in the grade.
I don't think I did the original sit start, but an alternate. I briefly tried pulling off the horizontal rail very low to the ground and it felt impossible. Instead, I did a sit lower on the arete with some smallish crimps that felt ~V5, and made the stand feel more complete. Will go back to try the original sit again at some point.
