Chris Sharma famously doesn’t rate his first ascents, and early in his career, he didn’t name them either. Many of these climbs are memorable, gorgeous, and proud. People wanted to talk about them, tell their friends about them, so they were given names by others. As a result, there are Sharma Aretes sprinkled up and down California. The names might not be the most creative, but they tell you everything you really need to know.
