Continue past The Gateway Boulder on the Chicago Lakes Trail No. 52. Beyond the meadow, the trail leads up a small hill for 30 yds through some trees. The trail will flatten out and head slightly downhill. Look for an obvious social trail which heads left, 2.8 miles from Echo Lake. Follow this into the willows and cross Chicago Creek on two bridges constructed from logs.
