The Pigeon Pass areas sits atop the Box Springs Mountain Reserve. The main access trails offer easy to moderate hiking. The donkeys are also most prominent in this area. Pigeon Pass is home the the jewel of Box Springs, a diamond in the rough, one of the most underrated climbs in SoCal, the aptly named, Rook Crack, V6. Many other slept on gems in this area as well.

Follow Pigeon Pass all the way up the hill until the dirt lot at the end of the road. Parking is open from 7am to 6pm. A new posting of a QR code allows payment access online, $5. However, there is limited/spotty signal in this area. Drive carefully along this road as the turns are blind, steep, and may be hiding donkeys. DO NOT FEED THE DONKEYS
