Estes Park locals have bouldered at this small cluster for years, but it wasn’t until 2011 that it gained significant popularity as a regional destination. This small cluster of boulders is a great option for when good conditions are difficult to find during the shoulder seasons, spring and fall. Season: Endovalley is best in the spring, before the Old Fall River Road has opened, between late March and early May and after it has closed, from mid-October to late November, depending on the first snow. Summer, mid-May through mid-October can be very hot here on the slippery granite. In winter, the boulders are for the most part covered in snow and ice and unclimbable. From the intersection of Hwy 34 and Hwy 36, head north on Hwy 34 for 5 miles to the Hwy 34 entrance to RMNP. Continue on Hwy 34 for 2.1 miles. Turn right on Fall River Road towards Endovalley. Follow this road for 1.8 miles and turn left into the Endovalley Picnic Area. Park anywhere along this small loop, preferably toward the back of the loop. DO NOT continue up the one-way Fall River Road, unless you intend to take the long, slow, ONE WAY journey for 11 miles up to the Alpine Visitor Center, and then back down another 25 miles to the entrance station. Park, if you can, at the Endovalley Picnic Area, and proceed on foot up the Fall River Road for 0.4 mile. 50 yards beyond a short road cut cliffband on the right, follow a trail uphill off the right side of the road for 30 yards to a collection of large boulders. If you are visiting Endovalley when the road is open, be very cautious of cars, and please step aside to give them birth. Traffic will be one-way, uphill. If the winter gate is closed, park at the lot here for the Alluvial Fan and walk the road. It is 1.0 mile from the winter parking lot to the beginning of the dirt Fall River Rd.
