As most Fraser areas, the spring brings tick season. Most of the areas dry out very fast and can be climbed even when there's rainfall in the Fraser Valley. Area under very active development, talk to the active developers to get more information if you wish to contribute. We have permission to climb in specific areas. DO NOT CLIMB OUTSIDE WHAT IS KNOWN AS PERMITTED. If you wish to contribute and develop more boulders, the Yale Chief has asked us to drop some tobacco on the ground and give thanks before taking from nature - cleaning boulders or making trails. You can find dry tobaccco at the Muskwa Gallery right beside the Subway in Hope. Bring steel and boar brushes. Most boulders stay clean of moss but can get sandy and need a dust off. All areas have very short approach. Due to the windy conditions in the canyon, the rock dries very fast and can often be climbed when it is still raining in the Fraser Valley. Ticks are more present in the spring. Consider tick repellent. It's very rare to be able to get any cell signal in any of the areas so plan accordingly, and play accordingly. From Vancouver/Fraser Valley: If you wish to camp in the area, Emory creek provincial park has a nice campground by the river. It's also home to the Emory Creek Store with great sandwiches and lots of snack choices as well as the Esso gas station. If you make it to Yale, the gas station recently re-opened (Winter 2025) but Barry's Trading Post is not to rely on as it is not always open. From Kamloops: Your best last stop to fill up on gas, snacks, or food will be in Boston Bar. access via highway 1 between Yale and Spuzzum. See each areas for specific access description.
