Geology:
The Swett Hills are composed of rhyolitic welded tuff known as the Harmony Hills Tuff. It has been proposed that this tuff layer is one of the largest on Earth. While the source is unknown, it is suspected that it erupted from a large volcanic complex near the modern Bull Valley Mountains, about 45 miles west of Cedar City. One unique aspect of the Harmony Hills Tuff is that it contains large quartz crystals. This likely indicates that magma partially cooled underground before rapidly erupting in a massive regional volcanic event.
From Cedar City, take UT-56 (exit 59/200N) west for 11.3 miles. From there you can turn North on Eight Mile Hills Rd to access the Wash, The Mound, Sarsen Blocks, and Wild West. If you are going to the Haven, exit UT-56 to the south on Bumblebee Drive. A moderate clearance vehicle can be helpful while navigating the dirt roads.
