The road into the Black Hills is narrow, and trenches are dug on either side to allow water to run during monsoon season. These are vital in preventing road washouts, but also makes parking for the boulders a little tricky. Most areas have flat, easily accessible parking areas, but others do not. Ranchers commonly use this road, so PLEASE DO NOT JUST PULL OVER. It's not wide enough for their big rigs and yours. You'll need to find a place to pull off the road. If you have high clearance, you can attempt to cross the trench, but high centering your vehicle is a real risk, so be careful. Otherwise, find a place where the trench is minimal to non-existant. I've marked the parking areas where I thought could be accessible by a low clearance vehicle.
