Tired of climbing on regular ho-hum faces? You’re in luck. This small city park hosts a single large boulder with typical volcanic Berkeley climbing. The grassy area is popular for dogs, mostly poodles for some reason. The flake on Great Stone Face has been flexing, so give it time after rain.

From the Berkeley Circle, head north on Arlington Ave. for 1/2 mile. Turn left on Thousand Oaks Blvd. Great Stone Face Park is one block up on the left. Park along the road.
