This circuit is well off the beaten path, but for those who make the 30 minute trek, shade and solitude await.

For the standard approach, walk 0.3 miles left (north) on Skyline Blvd. from the new parking lot. Take the second left on an access road (the first left goes to the Christmas tree farm). Walk 0.2 miles along the paved road and stay left at the fork. Take a nondescript trail left into the woods before two dirt roads intersect. If you’re already climbing at the Muffins or Goat Rock, the fastest approach comes from the other direction. Follow the main trail from the top of Goat Rock past the interpretive shelter. Pick up a faint climbers trail to the right in about 500 feet after the dirt road forks.
