The Bermuda Triangle is a boulderfield scattered along the large bench about 200 yards downhill from the Westside cliffline. Chad Watkins and Roger Rains first explored the area in the early 2000s; however, this publication marks the first time the Bermuda Triangle has been documented. These attributes combined with a nice setting and the shortest approach at the ranch make the Triangle worthwhile. Ranch wranglers originally gave the area its name for how easy it is to get lost in this section of HCR. Conditions: All of the routes in the Triangle face east, receiving good morning sun and afternoon shade. Drive: Park at the Trading Co. Hike: From the Trading Co., head south on the road that leads past the uphill side of the lodge and dips below the lowest set of cabins. Continue just past the last cabin to a fork in the road. Go left and follow the main road here as it quickly bends back right, heading through a field and then into the woods. (This road is located just downhill from the Sierra Bug MTB trail.) Look for a cairn on the left shortly after entering the woods; here, veer left (downhill) on a faint trail as it leads into an obvious cluster of large boulders. The routes are located on the downhill side of the large, downhill-most boulder.
