In more recent years, climbing, in all its forms, has also been added to that list. The region boasts many sport and trad routes, ice climbs and, of course, boulder problems. The region offers over 500 established boulder problems, from V0- to V14, spread out over 150 square kilometers. You’ll also find beautiful lakes to swim in, quiet forests to hike through, great views to appreciate, and awesome places to camp. Otter Pond is the most popular bouldering area, with the highest concentration of problems. If you are only visiting for a few days, it is the area to visit. All of the areas are accessed by first driving to the town of Calabogie, which is about 100 km west of Ottawa and 150 km north of Kingston. Directions to each area start from the intersection of County Road 508 and County Road 511, the location of the 'Bogie General Store.
