These boulders are spread out along the base of the Eagle’s Nest cliff, and despite many of them being part of the jumbled talus, most of the established problems have flat landings. Even though this area is overshadowed by the Otter Pond boulders, there are some good problems to be found, with potential for more development.

The Signpost Wall is a short exposed band of rock, while the boulders farther along are talus from the cliff above.
History
The Cliffline boulders never really saw the concentrated development that the other areas in this book received. A few problems have likely seen ascents since climbers began coming to the cliff in the 70s and 80s. As traffic to the Otter Pond boulders increased in the 2010’s, many boulderers occasionally found their way up here to check out the potential and establish new problems.
Otter Pond is accessed from the Eagle’s Nest Trail parking area, a large gravel lot that can accommodate 70 vehicles.
From the Bogie General Store, drive south on Calabogie Road (County Road 508) for 9.1 km. The parking lot will be on your right. You can’t miss it.
From the parking lot, take the obvious trail directly across the road. Just past the first uphill section, continue on the right fork, marked by a small wooden climbing plaque on a tree. This is a pretty well established trail, also used by the those climbing routes on the cliff. The Signpost wall will immediately come into view on your left, less than 100 meters from the road. The rest of the areas are spread out below the base of the cliff, the furthest being Midcliff, around 700 meters in.
Ignore the various signed trails that lead left up to the cliff. Instead, continue skirting the talus, keeping the rocks on your left. In spring and early summer, there will be a swamp on your right, which might force you into the talus in a few places.
If you are heading to Pyramid or Midcliff, you can take the bypass trail, which heads right into the woods at Icebreaker. It follows the high ground on the opposite side of the swamp. The approach should take between 1 to 12 minutes, depending on where you are heading.
Explore Calabogie from all levels with KAYA PRO. Drill down to the area, subarea, boulder and climb levels. Get approach information for each, and a variety of beta.
