Whether it's your first visit or fiftieth, KAYA makes your Creedmore Lakes Road days smoother, safer, and more dialed. The climbing areas located off the Creedmore Lakes Road CR 73C comprise some of the best climbing and rock quality in all of Red Feather Lakes. Located in the northern portion, this area has some of the most remote and secluded climbing in Red Feather as well. Another alpine plateau dotted with massive domes made of huge granite boulders. Capitols is a great example of two domes made entirely of boulders. The climbing history starts with legendary Fort Collins climber Jim Brink stumbling upon the trad potential of Creedmore Lakes on a fishing trip back in 1986. Over the next several seasons Craig Luebben, Rob Kelman, Malcolm Daly, Bryan Parsons, Pat McGrane, John Byrnes, Layne Kopischka, Robert Warren, Kent Wheeler, and Chuck Grossman helped Jim put in most of the trad routes. Around this same time period, Jim and some friends played around on the Grazing Allotment Crag too. Move forward a decade or so and Paul Heyliger, Bennett Austin, Jim Brink, Jon Dory, John Durkin, Ken Duncan, and Greg Hand developed a significant number of routes on the northwest face of GA crag. In the late 90s early 2000s the modern bouldering scene started to emerge across the Front Range. The author along with climbers like Francis Sanzaro, Tom Blackford, Dave Ludders, Jeremy Bisher, Cam Cross, Jason Tarry, Chuck Fryberger, Jason Nadeau, Collin Kopitzke, Jamie Emerson, Mike Auldridge, and Brian Capps began developing the bouldering starting at the Capitols. The 2007-2009 era saw a significant portion of the Swoosh Boulders being developed, with Cam Cross and Jason Tarry at the helm. The early 2010s brought significant additions to the Grazing Allotment Crag from climbers like Jason Tarry, Ryan Nelson, Chris Tirrell, and the author. The middle part of the decade, Ryan Nelson and Dan Perkins spent significant time developing and cleaning a lot of the boulders at Creedmore Lakes. By the end of the decade, a fresh set of climbers had begun to realize the potential off the Creedmore Lakes Road. Matt Poiez, Brett Hoffman, Matt Robbin, Sam Rothstein, Isaac Trujillo, Aaron Ramras, Pete Zagorski, Ryan Nelson and the author continued to add tons of problems at the Capitols and revitalized what would become the Sky Prairie Boulders. The potential for new boulders remains immense. The more you get out and hike, the more you realize is waiting to be found out in the wonderful maze of rocks.

Unfortunate the crux move only exists because you eliminate the good right hand but still a cool harder full left to right line that’s worth doing
