The Gate area is one of where bouldering began in Little Cottonwood back in the 1960's. The 'Standard Overhang' is one of the most popular intermediates in the canyon along with several other nearby favorites like 'Surprise Ending', 'E.B.P.', 'Left Side Direct' and the goof 'Party Trick'. Some of the best moderates in the canyon can also be found here with the well known slabs on the west side of the Gate Boulder and Greasy variations on the neighboring Spinal Twist boulder as well as fun aretes and faces on the Tower Boulder. 'Spinal Twist' is an older elite problem put up by Chris Sharma, and there are loads of other elite variations on the Standard Overhang Boulder. The Banjo zone is less trafficed but has several great problems and a newer zone including several undone projects for the adventurer.
