White Pine South is a sprawling talus high in the canyon with hundreds of great problems on quality patina'd rock including the beautiful moderate slabs on the Moose Boulder, and popular intermediate highball 'Mom' as well as the epic V16 cave 'Grand Illusion'. Along with all these favorites are plenty of potential problems scattered throughout the vast talus fields, just waiting to be climbed. Park on either side of the road and head south across the creek. There is usually a log or two for crossing the creek at various points toward the middle of the parking area. Crossing the creek can be difficult in the spring. A longer safer spring route can be taken by parking at the White Pine Trailhead to the east and crossing that bridge then bush whacking across the meadow into the Moose Boulder area.
