Climbing was first developed here in the 1980s with most of the lines being established as top rope climbs. By the early 90s, the best and most obvious lines were established by local crushers Patrick Huntley, Larry Harris, and others. Several of these lines were hard testpieces up to 5.13a difficulty, still serving as some of the hardest and most worthy rope climbs in the Tulsa area.
By 2010, many of these climbs had fallen out of popularity with the local climbing community and had begun to fall into obscurity. Top roping just wasn't as popular anymore and the local climbing community was shifting further into hard bouldering, that is until local climbers Drew Nevius, Jake Morris, and others began to breathe life back into the area. Using a couple old guidebooks, Tulsa Rocks by Bo Austin Mosely and The Oklahoma Climber's Guide by Chuck Long, they were able to identify a lot of the old established lines, clean them, rebolt them, and resend them. With community donations and grants from the ASCA, Drew is responsible for rebolting almost all of the established lines as well as well as replacing many of the old anchors from 2018 to 2020. During this time, Jake Morris reopened a number of the hardest lines in the area, some of which hadn't seen a second ascent or sends at all in almost 30 years.
The only available parking is at the end of S Linwood Dr not even 100ft east of the crag. This is very convenient access, but forces streetside parking within a neighborhood. Please do not block driveways. Consider carpooling to limit the number of cars parked on the street.
