The Campground Boulders have been under the radar for quite some time, and somehow never gained any popularity, despite their proximity to the campground. Obviously, this can be an excellent place to explore if you are camping in McCollum Campground. At the time of this guidebook, it has been a good ten years since the area got a thorough cleaning, so many lines are still in need of a good brushing, though the best lines have remained mostly clean. This area still hosts what is likely the weirdest boulder I’ve ever tried, Answer With a Question V7. Give it a rip and see what you think. Apart from this, there is an excellent, (though kind of lowball) roof here with a number of quality lines, as well as some popular gems like Wild and Wonderful V5, Bowsprit V5, and Pinched Nerve V8. Bring your brush and get out there! From the front gate, drive 1.5 miles to the entrance of McCollum Campground. If you are not camping here, park at the parking lot across from the entrance and walk into the campground. Walk down the road past the campground office and past the playground on the right side of the road. Just past the playground, take a right into the second campground loop. As you walk into the second loop, count eight campsites on the right side of the road, and turn right into the woods behind the eighth site. After a very short distance, the trail will take a sharp right turn at a boulder on the right, where you will find the first two problems. Veer left off the trail here, putting you at the southern end of the boulder field, which wraps around the campground where it butts up with Scott Run Trail.
