The Calico Basin area generally encompasses everything off of Calico Basin Road including Red Spring, the numerous gullies/canyons north of Red Spring, Kraft and Gateway Canyon. For ease of navigation, Red Spring, Kraft and Gateway Canyon each have their own designated areas.
 
Red Spring refers to the boulders best accessed via the Red Spring parking lot. Red Spring is a multi-purpose area attracting many visitors, so please be respectful of your surroundings. No climbing is permitted in or around the Boardwalk.

Red Spring is located on the northern end of Red Rock Canyon within the broader Calico Basin area. No fee or reservation needed. From the intersection of Charleston Blvd and the 215, drive 4 miles west onto SR159. Turn right onto Calico Basin Rd and follow until the Red Spring parking lot is visible. During peak season, Red Spring lot can overflow, so plan accordingly.
