Sandstone Quarry, sometimes referred to as The Third Pullout, is the third parking lot encountered after passing the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center entrance and driving for about 2.5 miles. While this is a decently sized parking lot, it does fill up fast, due to its popularity with hikers and rope climbers.

Climbing-wise, Sandstone Quarry is much more popular for rope climbing than it is for bouldering. Most climbs are very distributed from one other, and the lack of any notable difficult lines make this a rare stop. Historically this used to be a popular location for some classic easy highballs on The Propane Tank, but not as much nowadays. Sandstone Quarry is located at the beginning of the Red Rock Canyon 13-mile loop, thus entry fee and reservation are required. From the intersection of Charleston Blvd and the 215, drive 5.4 miles west onto SR159. Turn right into the entry of the loop and be prepared to show evidence of reservation. After payment, drive along the one-way loop road for 2.5 miles and turn into the roundabout parking lot. While a decent amount of parking is available, the lot tends to fill up fast. Thus, depending on time of day and the season, be prepared to potentially have to wait for a parking spot to open up, or to drive further down the loop to an alternate climbing location.
