The Second Pullout is named accordingly as it is the second parking lot encountered after passing the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center entrance and driving for about 1.6 miles. This is an extremely small parking lot that fills up fast, thus unless arriving early, it is wise to approach this zone from the First Pullout.

Climbing-wise, the second pullout is much more popular for rope climbing than it is for bouldering. Most climbs are very distributed from one other, and the lack of any notable difficult lines make this a rare stop. Historically this used to be a popular location for the classic Desert Rain V10, now closed due to the presence of Native American Rock Art.
Second Pullout is located at the beginning of the Red Rock Canyon 13-mile loop, thus entry fee and reservation are required. From the intersection of Charleston Blvd and the 215, drive 5.4 miles west onto SR159. Turn right into the entry of the loop and be prepared to show evidence of reservation. After payment, drive along the one-way loop road for 1.1 miles where the first pullout is reached. This is a large parking lot and where you need to make a choice:
OPTION 1
As you cannot reverse on the one-way loop, option 1 involves parking at the furthest corner of the First Pullout and hiking 0.5 miles along the dirt trail that parallels the road to the Second Pullout. If arriving during peak season or mid-day, this option guarantees that you will be able to climb in the Second Pullout but does require an additional 0.5 miles of hiking.
OPTION 2
Option 2 involves driving past the First Pullout and attempting to park at the Second Pullout, which only contains roughly 15 parking spots that fill up fast, especially due to its popularity with rope climbing. You must only park in designated spots, and you cannot reverse down the road. Thus, if you attempt this option and the lot is full, you must drive further and climb somewhere else.
