Bear Valley is an impressive granite bouldering area tucked between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. The rock quality is high and almost all the boulders are roadside. Far from major towns, the area has a remote, secluded feel with few other climbers around. Abundant camping options and a sense of solitude add to the magic, and while only the most obvious boulders have been climbed, the potential for new lines is excellent.
