DRIVING: From the turnoff to Kirkwood Ski Resort take Hwy 88 west for 10.4 miles and park on the right next to a Caltrans staging area. You will see the boulder on your right before you park, just after the highway turns from two lanes to four lanes.

APPROACH: Backtrack east along the highway for 200 yds to this obvious split boulder.
