Driving/Approach for the Viewpoint Boulders:
DRIVING:
From the junction of Hwy 28 and Hwy 431 in Incline Village, head up Mt. Rose Hwy (431) towards Reno. After 3.3 miles, park on the right in a huge pullout known as The Viewpoint.
APPROACH:
Hike uphill along the guardrail for about 100 yards until you can see some boulders down the hill to your right. Look for a break in the thick manzanita and scramble down the steep hillside (just right of a shallow gully) to the boulders. The boulders at the top of the hill are great for warming up. From there, hike downhill a short distance to the rest of the circuit.
Explore Lake Tahoe from all levels with KAYA PRO. Drill down to the area, subarea, boulder and climb levels. Get approach information for each, and a variety of beta.
