Although the hillside is steep, the approaches are very short. The boulders bask in the sun and occasionally dry out completely in winter. The boulders are on Forest Service land, but the area is very close to a residential neighborhood, so please be courteous to the homeowners. Classic lake views are a final bonus for this obscure but decent spot. From Incline Village, turn up Mt. Rose Hwy and drive 1.1 miles to Barbara St. and turn left. Drive a short ways to the stop sign and turn right on Jennifer. Wind uphill for 0.3 miles and turn left on Geraldine, go another 0.2 miles and turn left on Randall. Now go around several curves to a “T” and go right on Harper. After a short distance, turn left on Mildes Dr., then another quick left on Allison Dr. Go to the cul-de-sac and park just above the boulders. The first boulder is just below the parking lot. Use topos to navigate from there.
