The Pie Shop Area is a large complex of boulders surrounding the main Pie Shop crag. Most of the bouldering either sits just above Sawmill Road or in and around Echo View Estates. There are also several nearby satellite areas which hold smaller concentrations. Recently, several new hard lines were developed, Pimp Juice, The Flatfish and Ground Control being the most notable. The rock here can be a little chossy at times, but just as often the rock is well-featured with golden patina and diorite knobs, so everything kind of evens out in the end. The Pie Shop gets a lot of sun and is often climbable during dry spells in the winter. There are many houses nearby, especially at Echo View, so please be courteous to residents to ensure no access issues in the future.

For the main Pie Shop and Golf Course boulders: From South Lake Tahoe at the “Y” take Hwy 50/89 south for 2.5 miles and turn right on Sawmill Road. Continue on Sawmill Road for 0.2 miles and park on the left in a large pullout area. The main Pie Shop boulders are just above the road. For the Golf Course boulders backtrack down Sawmill Road for a short distance, then cut right towards the golf course for 50 yds to the boulders.
