This dihedral left of Hawkline Monster was the first new line on the buttress in more than 40 years. Unexpectedly popular, it's more of an adventure route than a typical sport line, with sections of amazing rock interspersed with scree covered ledges. Wear a helmet. Pitch 1: (5.10b) An awkward start in a dihedral leads past an anchor to jams, stems, and side pulls up a long crack system. Pitch 2: (5.9) A tricky move off the ledge leads to a detour to the right, before move left to a fun finish. Pitch 3: (5.10a) Clear a bulge on unique edges, and veer right on a technical slab. Finish with sheer fun up an easy arete. Four rappels take you back to the base.
