The Marsupial Traverse 5.9

Smith's premier Alpine experience tags five summits in a multi-pitch extravaganza. Possessing an undeniable charm, it's earned a cult following, despite a dearth of classic pitches. The orginal route (and longest version) begins with the two pitches of Edge of the World, though Lusty Lady is the most common starting point. Apart from a pitch to the top of Mini Half Dome, the rest of the route combines three routes with no independent climbing - Brogan's Spire's West Face, North Ledges Traverse, and Blind Opossum. 1. (5.9) Climb Lusty Lady (or a route of your choosing) to the top of The Mudpile. 2. (4th) Scramble down to an anchor on an exposed ridge. 3. (5.6) Clip a bolt and climb over a false summit, stepping down to a slab ending atop Mini Half Dome. Rap off the opposite side to a saddle at the base of Brogan Spire Complex. 4 (5.5).
