Three sessions and 12th go from the ground during my third session 😰
Less than ideal conditions (75 and direct sun) but sometimes it still works out! 😁
A top 10 moment for me. Going into this trip I’d always thought of this one as the easy 12 of Rocklands. I thought I had a good shot of flashing, given its my style too. I tried the first day when it was the only thing dry. I wasn’t wrong and had a pretty solid effort and immediately did the two piece. That day I fell off the last move 3x but didn’t feel tired and figured I’d do it some other day. I maybe didn’t pay it the full respect it deserved, coming back in full heat the next session, at the end of a long day multiple others. Or fresh, but in terrible humid conditions. I continued to fall from the last move multiple times, until I realized I needed to actually adapt and improve my beta slightly at the top, instead of just believing I was strong enough to thug through it. In true last go best go fashion I pulled it out—despite so much going wrong and improving beta. Being so deep in the hole with a split on my left index… such a great and cathartic moment screaming into the ether and ascending through the crazy wind into the milky way. Today retaught me how to try hard. It’s been hard to try hard when I’m trying damn hard at my other responsibilities. this boulder also taught me a lot about ego and expectation. Thanks to Jacob for the hard techno chunes.
And it’s been 1 years since I got hit by a car! And my first day doing two V12s! And my 50th 12!! Wow! Haha
