No full-length line on the Northeast Face gets more attention than this four pitch sport route. With varied climbing on good rock far off the ground, along, wuth a spectacular view of Smith's main area, it's worthy of the accolades. Pitch 1: (5.7) Start up the same approach chimney as Sky Ridge, but veer left on a bolted rib, providing access to an anchor at the highest point of the Perch, a ledge system traversing across the wall. Pitch 2: (5.10c) Boulder past a steep section to easier moves on a slab. Pitch 3: (5.10a) The best pitch continues far up the solid slab to the base of a prow. Pitch 4: (5.9) Ascend a rounded buttress on imperfect rock.
Fun little mini mission with Joey. The upper pitch isn't that chossy and the whole thing climbs pretty well. Nice to summit the group, despite the insane wind on top.
