'University Crawl' V7 π from the 'Impossible 7' list!
~
The 'impossible 7' is a list of 7 gnarly Squamish boulder problems. The climbs on this list are even more severe than the ones on the 'Squamish 7 Terrors' list.π±

After seeing @boulderingbreakdown 's Youtube beta video of them climbing 'University Crawl', I knew that I wanted to try it. They treated this boulder problem as a lip traverse with lots of tension hanging on the slopers and heel hooking to help them shuffle leftward.

Finally, at the end of one weekend, I decided to try this climb...
I quickly realized that their beta mixed with the dwindling friction I had left on my fingertips would not work, so I had to find another way...
~
I found myself getting stuck on the array of slopers with only one of them standing out as 'least worse', so I started to scan the rock for any new beta information. A brick pinch with a slight undercut drew my attention. It took me a decent amount time but I figured out that I could position my hips in a way that allowed me to hang low on the left hand sloper while also using the pinch in my right hand to stand up and move further left to finish the problem. I love this sequence. It feels so funky!

I hope this inspires some of you to go check it out!π‘
